Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
This Saturday, our Church will be hosting a
group of Orthodox and Catholics who are members of an ecumenical group called
the Society of St. John Chrysostom (http://www.ssjc.org).
They had asked me to give them a presentation on the Coptic Orthodox
Church and Her Spirituality. As such, we decided that it would be
beneficial for them to come to our church and attend a Coptic Liturgy as part
of the presentation.
Anyone from our church is welcome to attend
the presentation. Following the Divine Liturgy, we will have a small
break for coffee and light lunch, and then the presentation will begin inside
the church. I am sure that following the presentation there will be
several questions by our guests. The information I plan to provide is
more of an overview attempting to cover the history, contributions, and
spirituality of the Coptic Orthodox Church in less than 1 hour.
